Robert leads domestic economic forecasting and analysis, contributes to the development of euro area monetary policy and economic research, and oversees the Bank’s data strategy, including the collection and management of data, the compilation and dissemination of financial and supervisory statistics, and the development of applications and tools that enable data use across the Bank.
Since joining the Central Bank in 2009, he has led the Macro-Financial Division and held leadership roles across Economics, Statistics and Financial Stability, representing the Bank on Eurosystem and international committees. He has taught at Maynooth University and Trinity College Dublin and has published research on credit dynamics and on monetary and macroprudential policy in leading peer-reviewed journals.
He holds a BA, MA and PhD in Economics and Finance from Maynooth University.
